Buttons – JAC May Challenge

The Jewelry Artisans Community May challenge is to use buttons in a design. We where allowed to use as many or as little as we liked but there had to be at least one button included in our creation.

There where only 3 players in this challenge. Only Dawn from Jewelry Art By Dawn and Cat from Cat’s wire join this challenge.
Michele from MCstoneworks didn’t have any buttons and Caroline from The Crafty Chimp was working on a book getting published.

Dawn: I used black paracord to make a chain sinnet (monkey braid)bracelet. All of the attached plastic buttons are white with a black sunburst pattern except for a single black button with a red sunburst pattern in the center.

Cat: I may be late, but hey, here’s my entry 😉 I crocheted a bezel for it with a darker copper wire and tiny carnelian bead and teamed it up with a bronze ball chain because it’s picking up the button’s color.

Mine: Acrylic vintage pearl buttons, acrylic rhinestone buttons, 11/o and 8/o seed beads, 4 mm bicones and 3 mm drop beads.

below are the photo’s of the entries for this monts challenge. Cat used a button with a story to it when you read the challenge post on JAC itself you can read the story about it.

Now lets ad the images of our creations for the May Challenge. When you hover over the images you get to see the names of the creating artist.

Feel free to visit the websites from the others, visit and join the Jewelry Artisans Community, feel free to share this article or leave a comment.
